HELP & FAQ

Hub › Settings › Help & FAQ

Answers to the questions players ask most. Opened from Settings › Legal & Support › Help & FAQ. Each answer links to the codex page that owns the rule, so the detail is always one click away. If your question is not here, use Contact Support in the same section: it opens the in-game report form, and a person reads every report.

Account & saves

How do I sign in?

With Steam, Google or Discord — the gate shows one button per provider the server has configured (Apple appears when its key is set). You are sent to the provider's own sign-in page; we never see your password. The provider tells us your id, and that id is your account. Inside the Steam client there is no page: the shell signs you in with your Steam session (Accounts & Sign-in).

Can I use more than one login for the same climb?

Yes. Settings › Account & Data › Link Account lists the providers; a gold one is linked. Link Google or Discord while signed in and either login opens the same save. If the login you link already has a climb, the two accounts are merged — pick your main login before you link (Accounts).

Where is the Steam client?

Herumon Tower on Steam is a download: the shell ships the game, its data and its art inside the install and signs you in with your Steam session. It is the build that has Taskbar mode and the Dimensional Rift (Client Shell). The web build at playdfmc.com is the same game with the same save.

Where is my progress saved?

On our server. The game keeps a copy in your browser so it can load fast, but the server's copy is the real one, and every save is checked by the server (Integrity). Cloud save cannot be switched off. You can play on any device by signing in with the same login, or any login you have linked.

"This window no longer owns your save" — what happened?

Your account was opened in a second tab, window or device. Only one window may write your save at a time, so the older one stops. Close the extra window and reload the one you want to keep playing in. Nothing is lost: the save the server holds is the last one it accepted.

Can I rename my character?

Not in game — the name is set when you create the character. If your name needs changing, ask through Contact Support.

How do I get a copy of my data?

Settings › Account & Data › Export My Data downloads your save as a JSON file. For everything else we hold about you (see the Privacy Policy), ask through Contact Support.

How do I start over, or delete my account?

Reset Progress (New Game) resets everything on the account — creatures, gear, floor, badges, rankings, bought bag slots, boons — and puts you back on Floor 1 with a new character (D, T61). The login itself stays, and so does any Wraithgold you paid real money for; free or earned Wraithgold goes with the rest (Accounts, Premium Shop). Delete Account is in the same section: two steps, then the account is deleted 7 days later; signing in before then can cancel it (how to delete your account). See the Privacy Policy for what deletion removes.

Playing

Does death cost me my creatures or items?

No. Death costs your win streak and nothing else; characters, creatures and items persist (Realms, Streak).

How do I set my team?

Your battle team is your character plus two creatures, and it is set in the equipment window: the two creature slots are equipment slots (Party).

What does Autoplay do, and can it get me banned?

Autoplay fights creatures on the current floor and climbs when the portal opens. It never does anything you could not do by hand and never enters a boss den. It is part of the game; using it is fine (Autoplay).

How does Auto PVP work?

You attack a snapshot of another player's team; they do not need to be online, and their side plays by their own autoplay settings. Ten attacks a day, the server decides the result, seasons close weekly (Auto PVP, PvP & leaderboards).

How does breeding work?

Put a pair in a pen and it runs on its own, eating Ichor and dropping an egg each time its bar fills (Breeding).

Why is a button locked, and when does it open?

Systems open floor by floor — Autoplay at 6, Hatch All and Dismantle All at 8, souls at 12, Auto PvP at 15, breeding at 25, and so on up to the Dimensional Rift at 100. A locked control shows the floor that opens it, and when it opens an arrow points at it until you click it once (System Unlocks).

What are badges, and where is my profile?

Click any name on a leaderboard to open that player's profile: avatar, class, party, highest floor, rating, power and badges. Badges are awarded by the server when the fact is true in your save — floor milestones, class mastery, a Void creature of every line. On Steam the same facts unlock achievements (Profiles, Badges & Achievements).

What is the Dimensional Rift?

Beat floor 100 and the rift to Herumon Dungeon opens: send a creature through as a copy, free, once. It arrives there at level 1 and keeps its grade; if it reaches level 50 there you earn the Dimensional Traveler badge here (Client Shell).

Where can I see what happened while I was away?

The player-side Adventure Log is retired (D, 2026-10-22). The action log is kept server side only; a player export of it is planned (Networking).

Wraithgold & the shop

What is Wraithgold?

The premium currency. It buys timed boons, extra Auto PVP attacks and the premium breeding pens (Premium Shop). It is a licence to use in-game content, has no cash value, and cannot be traded or withdrawn — see the Terms of Service.

Can I buy Wraithgold with real money?

Not yet — the store opens when the Steam partner account does, and no account starts with any Wraithgold (D, T56). When real-money purchases open, the price, what you get, the refund rules and — for anything with a random result — the odds will be shown before you pay.

Problems & settings

How do I report a bug?

The REPORT A BUG tile on the main menu, or Settings › Legal & Support › Contact Support. Pick Bug, Suggestion or Other, write what happened; the report carries the state of the game when you opened the panel, the recent notices the game showed you and the build number, so we can see what you saw. No screenshot is taken, and there is no play log on your device (The Report Panel). The Privacy Policy lists exactly what is sent.

Where do these pages come from?

Settings › Legal & Support opens this site, codex.playdfmc.com; the game's info panels link into it too. The old GitHub Pages address forwards here.

The game is too loud, too bright, or flashes too much.

Settings has volume sliders and a mute, plus Reduce Motion and Reduce Flashing under Language & Accessibility (Settings).

The game says a new version is out.

Reload. Every open window is moved to the new build so all players run the same rules (Client Shell).
